Abstrakt

Metals in air are predominantly bound to particulate matter. Their occurrence and composition depend on sources which are of natural or anthropogenic origin. Many hazardous metals show harmful effects on human health. The intensity of negative health effects of metals depends on the size distribution of aerosol particles. Examples of methods for the determination of metals in air, especially on-line and off-line techniques, are presented. Determination of metal ions is also discussed.
