Utilization of MALDI-TOF MS for Analysis of Polymer Mixtures

Abstrakt

Utilization of MALDI-TOF MS in polymer analysis is described. The method is suitable both for biopolymers and synthetic polymers. Various mixtures of OH- and H-terminated polystyrenes were studied. MALDI-TOF MS is able to identify individual oligomers with different end-groups, to determine molecular weight distribution and polydispersity, and to analyze molar or weight composition of polymer mixtures.
